For someone who was quite cynical about the current state of popular music (given how overindulged one was in the 1990s) before he started blogging, I now stand converted (have been for a while actually) and love being taken aback by todays music’ ability to consistently delight and surprise me.
Today’s gushing has been induced by a couple of electro orchestral pop gems by multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Kishi Bashi (who also happens to be a member of psych pop group Of Montreal). Both Bright Whites and It All Began With A Burst are eclectic, giddy and uplifting in the way that only the best pop music can be, the kind that makes you want to dance spontaneously
