Deap Vally is the San Fernando Valley duo of Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards and their raw, gritty blues rock makes them a contender for the female version of The Black Keys (their early years, think Big Come Up and Thickfreakness).
Singer/Guitarist Lindsey Troy also clearly channels a number of classic female rock artists like Janis Joplin and well Joan Jett 
. It’s new music that sounds a lot like good old music.
