Cool ‘New’ Music: Kindness

Kindness_house_cyan video

Brit Adam Bainbridge is the one man band behind the Kindness moniker. His music can be loosely defined as layered electronic pop built on samples that have a clear funk/disco slant.

Kindness released his debut album World, You Need A Change Of Mind in March 2012 and it makes for an engaging and entertaining listen. House is my favourite song on the album and I also love the cover of The Replacements’ Swingin Party (listen to the original here).

Check out these two songs as well as the video for Cyan, the first single from the album.

Cool New Music: Emma Louise

Emma louise_Jungle video_Boy

Emma Louise is a 20-year-old Brisbane based folk pop singer-songwriter who first garnered ‘widespread’ attention in Australia with the release of her debut EP Full Hearts & Empty Rooms early last year (thanks majorly to standout single Jungle).

What marks Emma out as a potential pop prospect is that like say Ben Howard, not only is she a gifted musician and songwriter but she also possesses an earthy genuineness that has and will have people rooting for her (and her success).

She has a ton of material up on Youtube and has just released a new single Boy from a forthcoming debut album rumoured to be out in early 2013. Have a listen to Jungle, Boy and Insecure below and if you like what you hear head to Emma Louise’ Youtube channel to check out more of her music.
